Glycerine (glycerine, glycerol) is a commercial by-product of biodiesel manufacture. It is a colourless, odourless, viscous liquid, non-toxic and non-irritating and has no known negative environmental effects.
Glycerine is one of the most versatile members of the alcohol family with more than 1,500 known uses and applications. The major glycerine end-uses include:
